WHY NOBODY HAS FACELIFTS ANYMORE

WHY NOBODY HAS FACELIFTS ANYMORE

Have you noticed that you just don’t hear about the traditional facelift as you may once have? Even a mere decade ago, most people knew someone who had gone under the knife (whether they knew we knew or not!).

Luckily for us all, an exciting new phase of cosmetic procedures and the development of advanced technologies means we can bypass the surgeon’s scalpel and still achieve excellent – and arguably better – results. The great thing about this progress in treatment options is that we don’t have to remove or take away from the skin; we are now working to transform and correct the skin at multiple levels naturally.

This can be done through stimulating collagen and elastin (responsible for keeping our skin firm and free of wrinkles), reducing fat pockets in unwanted areas and adding subtle volume where it has been lost to time. This results not only in a much more individual approach to contouring and de-aging the face, but also means you have more control over the time and budget spent on treatment and there’s no extended down time.

Essentially, it’s you, but fresher, firmer and smoother, the way you used to be. So, if the facelift is outdated, it’s time to get up to speed on the latest transformative skin treatments.

HIFU (HIGH - INTENSITY FOCUSED ULTRASOUND)

Hifu is a non-invasive treatment that distributes ultrasound energy to the deepest layer of the skin, heating the tissue and triggering the production of collagen (remember, we mentioned that this protein is responsible for our skin’s elasticity) and tightening the skin.

Only a single treatment is required, rather than a course of treatments, it is comfortable and won’t cause you to experience any down time. Hifu is commonly used to tighten and firm the jawline, neck, eye area, brow, face and body areas with loose skin such as the stomach and arms.

FRAXEL® DUAL LASER

For most people, the first visible signs of aging skin are fine lines, uneven skin tone or discolouration, but our skin ages in two ways. The first is genetically programmed, intrinsic aging, and this affects the skin all over your body.

The second is photo-aging that results from the long-term effects of the sun and other external factors such as smoking and pollution. Fraxel is the gold standard in skin rejuvenation to treat all ageing concerns, and long lasting results can usually be seen with just one treatment.

RADIO FREQUENCY MICRO-NEEDLING

This treatment uses a handpiece that stamps tiny holes into the skin and also delivers radio frequency to treat and improve conditions like acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, skin texture, pore size, brown spots, stretch marks and pigment issues. A numbing cream is applied pre-treatment to ensure it is comfortable for you and there is no down time.

CRYOLIPOLYSIS

As we age, the fat pads in our face gradually sag downwards, resulting in jowls and unwanted volume beneath the chin. Cryo therapy, which is often used to reduce fat from larger body areas, can also be employed to minimise pockets chin and neck fat to create a tauter and more refined jawline which makes a big difference to the overall look of the face by freezing and eliminating fat cells.
