Q. WHAT IS FRACTIONAL RADIO FREQUENCY?

Fractional RF is a combination treatment combining dermal needling with heat generated by Radio Frequency in one hand piece.
The needles transmit the RF into layers of skin ranging which then activates a controlled wound response causing the skin to generate collagen and elastin. Together, these assist in producing tighter and plumper skin.

Q. WHAT DOES FRACTIONAL RADIO FREQUENCY TREAT?

Typically, we use Fractional RF to treat:

Q. HOW DOES FRACTIONAL RF DIFFER FROM SKIN NEEDLING?

Skin needling takes several forms including Derma Pen, Nano-Pore and Dermal Rollers. All these devices work on the principle of creating a controlled wound in the skin which in turn stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.

Fractional RF combines this type of treatment with heat created through radio frequency. The heating of the skin boosts the collagen production and particularly assists in skin tightening.

A combination of these treatments provide a highly effective treatment for a variety of conditions.

Q. IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?

Our newest equipment is very comfortable on body areas and requires no numbing. Most people also find it comfortable on the face, however, topical numbing cream is available and we do recomend this for deeper scar treatments and for those with more vascular facial structure (such as rosacea).

Q. HOW LONG IS THE TREATMENT TIME?

Depending on the area to be treated and the specific treatment that you require you should allow about an hour which will include numbing and treatment.

Q. HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

Depending on the severity of the condition we are treating you would expect to have 3-6 treatments. Many people incorporate RF into their ongoing maintenece program also. We provide a complimentary consultation to assess your suitability for treatment and to give you a better idea of the number of treatments that you will need.

Q. WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?

There is minimal downtime, and you can return to work immediately.
You will be redder than usual for 1-2 hours, but this should subside quickly.
You may experience mild peeling for 2-3 days following treatment, but you can wear make-up the following day.

Q. HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A TREATMENT?

Depending on the severity of the condition we are treating treatment and the condition of your skin we normally retreat at 2-4-week intervals.

Q. CAN I HAVE MULTIPLE AREAS TREATED?

Yes, although there is a limitation to the size of area we can apply numbing cream to safely and this will be discussed with you at your consultation. 

PRE-TREATMENT

We will be unable to carry out Fractional RF if any of the following applies to the treatment area:

• Use of cosmeceutical strength retinol in the past 3 days
• Use of prescription strength retinol in last two weeks
• Sunburn, irritation or open wounds,
• History of keloid scarring or poor wound repair
• Laser hair removal or laser rejuvenation treatment within the last 4 weeks
• Laser resurfacing in the last 6 months
• Peel within the last 4 weeks
• Metal plates, pins or implants in the treatment area
• Pacemaker
• Roaccutane or Gold Therapy in last 6 months

POST TREATMENT

First 48 hours:

• Avoid sun exposure, solariums and excessive exercise

First 72 hours:

• Avoid active skincare such as Retinol and Glycolic Acid. 

• Use Issada Clinical Formula morning and night for two weeks

  - Use ISSADA Daily Gentle cleanser
  - Apply any of these ISSADA serums liberally:  Niacinamide + B5 Complex; Pure HA; Collagen Support + HA Serum
  - Apply ISSADA Probiotic moisturiser morning and night or when feeling dry 
  - Apply ISSADA Sheer Defence SPF 50+ on the day after treatment and continue for 7 days cleanse
