Anti-Wrinkle Injections
One of our most popular treatments are Anti-Wrinkle Injections. These are highly effective and used for lines and wrinkles caused by facial expression such as smiling, squinting or frowning.
We commonly use Anti-Wrinkle Injections to treat:
- Forehead and frown lines between the brows (glabella)
- Crow’s feet
- ‘Bunny lines’ on the side and top of your nose.
- The jaw, to reduce teeth grinding and elongate the face.
- The top lip to give the appearance of a fuller lip (also known as the ‘lip flip’)
- The platysma bands of the neck to smooth and elongate the appearance of the neck. This is sometimes referred to as the ‘Nefertiti Lift’ or a ‘non-surgical lower face lift’.
When considering Anti-Wrinkle Injections we believe you should consider your choice of practitioner carefully. The best injectors are able to combine a thorough medical and anatomical knowledge with an eye for symmetry and artistry and lots of experience in administering Cosmetic Injectables.

Anti-wrinkle injections are the treatment of choice for clients with frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet or other wrinkles that are caused through movement of muscles. They are suitable for most clients but we will assess your specific needs at your initial consultation
Treatment involves a series of tiny injections into the particular muscles of your face which are causing wrinkles. The process takes only a 10-20 minutes depending on the number of areas treated.
You will feel a small pinch – it is a little uncomfortable but largely quick pain-free.
The product used for anti-wrinkle injections has been used for a long time and is administered in such a way that it only affects the specific muscles that we are targeting (and if you have the treatment for excessive sweating, your sweat glands too). It does not reach any other part of the body.
As long as cosmetic injectables are administered by an experienced and qualified cosmetic injector, the risks are extremely minimal.
There is no downtime. This is a true lunch-time procedure and you can carry on with your day as normal. However, we do advise you to avoid strenuous activity, saunas or solarium for 24 hours.
You should start to see the effects by day 3 and these will continue until day 10 when the product will have taken full effect. Results should last approximately 3-4 months. We would want to review your results 14 days after your treatment.
The most common areas for treatment include the Forehead, Brow, Glabella (Between the eyes), Crows feet (Sides of the eyes), Chin, Upper lip to create a “lip flip”, Jaw (to address teeth grinding), Under the nose (to reduce a gummy smile), Platysma Bands (to elongate the neck and soften neck clenching)
This can vary according to your own metabolic rate and other factors but under normal circumstances, we would expect our preferred product to last 3-4 months.
Absolutely. We can also treat fine lines wrinkles with Radio-frequency, Fraxel Laser, Peels, Dermal Fillers, HIFU and LED. We offer a FREE Consultation to help you decide the best treatment for you.
Most side effects are short-lived and very mild. They include bruising to the site of the injection and in some clients a mild headache shortly after the treatment. These normally subside within 24 hours
Anti-Wrinkle Injections Pre Treatment
- Avoid any medications or supplements designed to increase blood flow for 3-4 days prior to treatment as these will increase your risk of bruising Examples include Asprin, Nurophen, Gingko, Vitamins A, C and E
- Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior for the same reason.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections – Post Treatment
- Maximise facial activity by frowning, squinting and working the muscles in the area treated. This will draw the muscle relaxant to the tissue receptors and maximise results
- No facial treatments or rubbing of the treated area for 24 hours
- Avoid laying down for 4 hours.
- No strenuous exercise on the day of treatment.
If you experience a mild headache after your anti-wrinkle injections take Paracetamol as needed, but avoid Aspirin, Nurofen, Ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory medication
which could increase the risk of bruising.
Possible Side-effects
As with all medical treatments there are always treatment risks such as:
- Drooping of the brow or eyelid is a rare temporary occurrence
- Heaviness of the brows which occurs in some older patients due to poor muscle tone and can last 2 – 3 weeks. A lower dosage is used in older clients to minimise this risk.
